THE PIANO MAN

VERY 1970'S-That's what Billy Joel's  drinking song personifies.  Neal Diamond (whose music depresses me and it turns out was depressed throughout the decade)  and Paul Simon ( who I like but who confessed he was depressed that whole decade too until he found Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes) were the other singer/composers of the '70's.  I was depressed in the 70's.. Maybe it was the music I listened to.  The 80's were better.  In the 90's I followed Simon and Joel to the Hamptons.  I saw them both plus Julie Andrews,Alan Alda,Christie Brinkley and Alec Baldwin out there when I lived there until 2002.

I deserted New York after September 11th and headed for Florida and then Cape Cod.  Now I'm wasting away in Margaritaville with Jimmy Buffett who by the way I saw in the Hamptons too.  Fortunately I gave up drinking and smoking in the 80's.  Since 2000 I've been into real estate until the 2008 economic crash.  I'm also into  nature living in Cape Cod up north and Cape Kennedy(Canaveral-formerly Irish for a few years) down south.

Christie divorced, Billy hit a tree in his Citroen,Alec insulted all of America and his daughter Ireland, Limmy was thrown out of a Knicks game for drunkeness, Julie went to rehab for pain pill addiction,Paul moved to connecticut and Neil and Alan jut stayed boring.

We sold  our house and moved on.  We still regret it-especially my husband who agreed then and complains now.  It took one year to sell it.  He could have put his foot down anytime.  He didn't.  Today is our 27th anniversary.  He took me away from the loneliness of the Piano Man in 1979.  So it's actually our 33rd anniversary and we're moving again back to our pool house and away from the fish bowl on the sixth green with maintenance noise and marauding golf carts daily.

We're on a fairway there and not a green.  Our property is much bigger and it's not a townhouse.   So we're back to rolling on the river with the good ol' boys.  This country club has nice members but the food and pool rots and there's no privacy at our townhouse .  Also a board determines our gardening and architecture plans. So much for small government.  It's more like The Scarlet Letter.

So that's the word.  I'm waking up my husband at 10 am so he can lounge in his lazyboy.  That's been his main occupation for 27(33) years.  He moves when I insist.  Hmmmm!

There's much more BUT THE NIGHT HAS A THOUSAND EYES especially on Blogger.
