That Old Cape Magic by Richard Russo

THAT OLD CAPE MAGIC AT THE SILVER LOUNGE IN FALMOUTH IS FULL OF SMIRT WITH THE FRIENDLIEST BARTENDERS IN TOWN PLUS EXCELLENT FOOD

You'll never cross the bridge to Cape Cod without humming THAT OLD BLACK MAGIC like Richard Russo's family used to when they arrived for their annual Cape summer vacation from the MID f-ing WEST. It's great hot weather reading during those hazy, lazy days of summer.  They changed the words to THAT OLD CAPE MAGIC.   Actually Russo never reminisces about  heat waves during those vacations.
Russo stayed in a cooler part of the Cape than Falmouth or perhaps children don't notice heat. Anyway a trip to the Cape kept his parents married and teaching college in Indiana for another year.
The Silver Lounge in Falmouth and an anonymous B and B have a major part in THAT OLD CAPE MAGIC.
This in spite of deprecating remarks about go karts being the mentality of  Falmouth. So it's a long hot summer this year, be sure to read Russo's Cape Magic.
Maine-Here I come. Portlandt that is.
